We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed individual to join an expanding and supportive multi-disciplinary team. 

The Lancashire and South Cumbria Early Intervention Service (EIS) specialises in working with individuals aged 14 to 65 at risk of, or currently experiencing, first episode psychosis. Our team provides a range of specialist interventions including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Family Interventions.

The Early Intervention Service covers the Lancashire and South Cumbria footprint with 4 dedicated MDTs.  We enjoy close working links with a range of community and inpatient services for children and adults.

We place a strong emphasis on professional and clinical supervision in order to support and develop individuals as part of our commitment to maintain our focus on delivering the highest quality clinical service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of this team, there is one permanent post for a nurse, social worker or occupational therapist to join the team.  The post will provide an opportunity for development for those who are interested in working within the Early Intervention Service and to gain valuable experience working in a community setting.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the development of a new service with opportunities to participate in ongoing skills development.

The post of Assistant Key Worker will work as part of The Bay EIS.  The Bay EIS operates via a hub and spoke model of care and cover the following localities; Kendal, Barrow, Morecambe and Lancaster.  The vacancy is to cover the whole of The Bay area however your base would be the most local to where you live.  We ensure where possible that travel across the team’s footprint is kept to a minimal.

You will be an Early Intervention Specialist working within a multidisciplinary team, coordinating and delivering high quality effective care to service users, with highly complex needs, often associated with high risk behaviours and their family/carers, As an autonomous clinician you will be expected to deliver specialist interventions within the core competencies of the role, such as Psycho-social and Family intervention.

You will actively promote teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and your professional bodies Code of Conduct.

You will provide leadership within the multidisciplinary team and ensure the effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care for service users 

You will be required to offer clinical and managerial leadership to students as part of your role within the team. You will maintain a positive and open attitude towards organisational change and service development.

  • On-going registration with professional body.
  • Evidence of accredited learning at Degree level 6 or above that is relative to practice.

Knowledge

  • Can demonstrate an in depth knowledge of mental health conditions, specifically psychosis and their recommended treatments.
  • Can demonstrate specialist knowledge within their professional area of patient/ client care.
  • Thorough knowledge of acute and community mental health care for the psychosis pathway.

Experience

  • Post Graduate experience.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team structure.
