Training Hub Support Officer

Are you an individual who has project and finance support experience and is looking to be part of an exciting Team?

We wish to recruit two Training Hub Support Officer (THSO) for a fixed term contract (for 12 months - at Agenda for Change Band 6) to join and support our growing BNSSG Training Hub team.

These are two of four THSO roles who plan, support, manage and coordinate our work and related activity to support General Practice.

One role will primarily focus on support for finance and General Practice staff development workstreams, whilst also working with fellow THSOs and other TH Team colleagues.

The other role will primarily focus on support for General Practice project work, working with our TH Fellows and Profession Leads, whilst also working with fellow THSOs and other TH Team colleagues.

You will utilise various change, project management and reporting techniques, to plan and deliver agreed programmes of work and delivery against KPIs and within agreed timescales.

The role is suitable for an individual with an eye for detail and skills in the use of Excel spreadsheets and/or financial systems.

You may also wish to further develop project management skills; have a desire to work within the NHS; and, ideally, are Bristol, South Gloucestershire or North Somerset based.

Interviews will take place 29th May 2024 and 03rd June 2024.

The Training Hub Support Officer will plan, support, manage and coordinate workforce projects and related work packages as part of the Training Hub support to General Practice. These roles will utilise various change and project management techniques and will include working with key stakeholders across partner organisations, to plan and deliver agreed programmes of work, providing project methodology and supporting delivery against KPIs and within agreed milestones.

These roles are suitable for an individual wishing to further develop project management skills and a desire to work within the NHS.

The Training Hub Business Support Officer will be expected to:
Support the planning and manage delivery of assigned Training Hub projects, working with key stakeholders across all partners in the ICS.

Develop, refine, maintain, monitor and manage relevant Training Hub project plans ensuring progress is tracked and reported in line with ICS requirements and methodology, and in line with requirements of external funders such as NHSE.
Ensure that project plan activities are completed by the responsible officers in line with due dates identified in the plan.
Undertake research in agreed areas to enable informed decisions.
Analyse and present data to assist in the decision-making process.
Ensure risks and issues are identified and escalated to the appropriate senior leaders or oversight group responsible for the project.
Develop key performance indicators and benefits for relevant projects and ensure these are monitored on a monthly basis to provide assurance of project delivery.
Develop post project evaluation reports detailing lessons learnt and benefits realised.
Be aware of and have commitment to and actively promote the principles of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Comply with associated legislation and policies.
Design and deliver training, with support from other members in the Training Hub Team.

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Further training or significant experience in project management, or supporting workforce change management
  • Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the impact of workforce/Learning/Leadership projects and programmes
  • Experience in communications and complex stakeholder management
  • Strong Microsoft office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word and powerpoint
  • Experience of managing risks and issues, capturing actions and holding to account for delivery of agreed actions
  • Experience of drafting reports and presentations
