Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, capable and enthusiastic administrator who is used to managing complex data and information who can support the effective management of the Network’s core business function, assist with co-ordinating events, as well as a range of other supporting improvement initiatives, projects and related tasks; maintaining effective relationships and communications with network and board members, working with a diverse range of clinical professionals and stakeholders across the region.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to provide cross cover on an ad hoc basis to support the South West Burns Clinical Network, also based at Southmead hospital. The post is hosted by North Bristol NHS Trust, with a working base at Southmead Hospital, Bristol and is offered on a flexible basis; working from home as well as opportunities to travel to other provider locations across the network.

Working for our organisation

What is an Operational Delivery Network?

An Operational Delivery Network (ODN) is a way to bring different parties (clinicians, providers, commissioners and patients) together to realise change across a complex system of care in order to improve care, quality and outcomes for the benefit of patients and is recognised as a successful way of achieving strategic change in the NHS.

NHS England Southwest Specialised Commissioning set the strategic direction for ODNs and specify key commissioning objectives for networks; who are established to deliver whole system work programmes which are based on the NHS Outcomes Framework.

An ODN serves three main functions;

  1. Increasing operational effectiveness and consistency by addressing unwarranted variation in practice and health inequalities
  2. Improving care quality, patient outcomes, prevention, shared learning and decision making
  3. Managing patient flows ensuring equitable access for all and care as close to home as possible
