Applications are invited for a part-time (8PA) Consultant post that replaces a previous Consultant post in the Department of Neuropathology. The appointee will join two consultant colleagues in the Department, which is part of the Regional Neurosciences Centre, serving the South West of England. The Department, which has UKAS accreditation, is housed in a new building on the main hospital site, with state-of-the-art facilities.
The post-holder will share responsibility with his/her consultant colleagues for the provision of all aspects of the neuropathology diagnostic service and for maintaining the high reputation of the Department. He/she will also share responsibility for the specialist training of StRs in neuropathology and pathology, and will contribute to the teaching of undergraduates. The Department has strong links to the University of Bristol, and the post-holder will have the opportunity to contribute to research within the Institute of Clinical Neurosciences housed in an adjacent new building on the hospital site.

Applicants must have full specialist neuropathology training in an approved training post, or equivalent, and hold full and specialist registration (and a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council or eligibility for registration within six months of the interview. They should also have recent experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent).
