A fantastic opportunity to join the Respiratory Physiology department has arisen .

This role will support the Respiratory team at the Bristol Royal Infirmary in caring for and managing a variety of lung conditions, by assessing the lung function of our patients. 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

• Participates in the provision of Respiratory Physiology services at Bristol Royal Infirmary, Bristol Royal Hospital for Children & South Bristol Community Hospital for patients referred for Lung Function assessment via GP, Surgical specialties, UHBW Wards and Outpatient services.

• Responsible for supporting an efficient and high quality service in the field of Respiratory Physiology and to provide the very best care and efficient treatment of patients during their stay in the department.

• Undertakes a range of routine Lung Function procedures to a high level of competence on patients, including Spirometry, Fractional Expired Nitrous Oxide (FeNO) test, assisting in Cardiopulmonary exercise tests and 6 Minute Walk Tests.

  • The post requires a combination of: - frequent light physical effort - occasional moderate physical effort (moving patients in wheelchairs) - frequent standing, kneeling or sitting in a restricted position
  • Able to deal with exposure to distressing and/or emotional circumstances, with occasional exposure to highly distressing and emotional circumstances
  • Able to deal with frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions (body odour, sputum) with occasional exposure to hazards (verbal aggression)
  • Able to communicate to a wide range of people from Consultants to Patients
  • Excellent attention to detail
