Job overview

We are recruiting to 0.6 WTE (22.5hours) position; Team Administrator

This is a temporary post until March 2025. 

The position is based in the Nutrition and Dietetic Department at The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. 

The post requires competency with keeping databases up to date, letter and document typing, minute taking and a good knowledge of video conferencing packages and Microsoft Windows.  The work environment is a busy and sometimes demanding environment but is supported by a multidisciplinary team.  The role requires flexibility, responsiveness, and a good team player. 

Main duties of the job

  • Escalate patient queries, and general issues to the role’s line manager or relevant clinical staff as appropriate.
  • Using the email system to support smooth communication within the dietetic and Speech and language therapy departments in addition with ancillary personnel.
  • Carrying out a range of routine clerical activities such as answering the telephone and distributing telephone messages; photocopying, disposal of confidential material; collecting and despatch of post as required; lamination and scanning of documents.
  • Act as a supportive and adaptable team member and assisting with the work of other team members to include providing annual leave/sickness cover for colleagues as and when required.
  • To show a caring and professional approach towards patients, relatives, and carers. This may require acting with resilience to deal with sometimes distressed patients and relatives in an empathetic manner.
  • Assist with the inputting of patient data onto the computer system.
  • To manage patient communications via telephone and use Trust systems to create letters, emails, and text reminders.
