Join our friendly and supportive in-house maintenance team on a full time, permanent role primarily based at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon. On call hours will be scheduled in your rota.
You will demonstrate excellent knowledge of building electrical systems and looking to utilise your knowledge and experience in a challenging but rewarding environment.
To be eligible, you must possess a relevant formal electrical qualification and be conversant with electrical regulations. You will have good literacy skills and the ability to work on your own as well as part of the team.
You will interact with a variety of people including staff, service users and visitors and therefore must have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively with our customers.

Main duties of the job
Your main duties will cover a range of building electrical work including planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, specialist testing, fault finding and repair of equipment and installation work.
Some key responsibilities include:
• Undertaking a range of repairs and core craft electrical and general engineering duties and associated works for the Trust and its clinical providers.
• Maintaining engineering services and equipment at a range of sites consisting of Hospitals, accommodation, Offices whilst at all times observing all relevant Health and Safety guidelines and Regulations.
• Service, test, calibrate, diagnose and repair faults, most, of which are non-routine and can be of a complex nature of hospital properties and equipment. Range of work procedures in progressing jobs requiring a high level of theoretical knowledge. Understanding and safeguarding highly technical tools often used in fault finding situations.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- A minimum qualification of City & Guilds 236 parts 1 & 2 or BTEC First Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Foundation Modern Apprenticeship (NVQ level 3 with key skills)
- City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
Desirable criteria
- BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Advanced Modern Apprenticeship (NVQ level 3 with key skills)
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Completion of a structured training program in electrical engineering for a minimum period of 3 years.
- • Significant experience of electrical installation and maintenance
