An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead nurse for capacity and flow to join the Division of Medicine
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of progressive, transformational leadership, to drive a culture of quality care to improve outcomes and experience for patients who use our services.
The successful candidate will be somebody who encompasses our Trust Values and will work with staff, to ensure that our services are safe and effective.
Please note that we can only consider applications from individuals with a live NMC registration or UK nursing students awaiting their PIN, as we are currently unable to support OSCE.
Main duties of the job
You must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills; you should be able to demonstrate your experience of developing a culture of high performance and excellence. Problem solving and being able to adapt to a changing environment are key to this role.
The Lead Nurse will work with internal and external stakeholders to define service need and facilitate new patient pathways.
You will work closely with the Divisional senior leadership team other Matrons and Ward Staff to ensure the safe implementation of patient pathways.
The post holder will provide onsite professional, operational and managerial leadership for the achievement of patient flow and quality targets.
You will also be expected to participate in supporting the wider operational and strategic management of the Trust. Leadership and experience in this specialty would be advantageous but is not essential.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Minimum 5 years post qualification
- Evidence of Continual Professional Development (CPD)
- Specialist experience &/or post graduate qualification
- Management experience and qualification
Desirable criteria
- Qualified/working towards Masters level or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven track record in leadership and management
- Experience of working across the medical emergency and elective pathways
Desirable criteria
- Experience of operating and communicating effectively with clinicians and Directors
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Good working knowledge of contemporary health care issues and professional standards
