Do you want to support in the leadership and development of a team in a busy acute ward environment as a Deputy Unit Leader?
Do you have experience in Gastroenterology and Hepatology?
If so, we are looking for a self-motivated individual to work with us to develop our Gastroenterology and Liver Unit on our journey to Brilliant, here at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.
The Gastroenterology and Liver Unit, is a 29 bedded unit caring for some of the most complex and acutely unwell patients within the hospital. The role requires you to be flexible, resilient and forward thinking.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse/AHP who is ready to develop their leadership skills within an acute hospital setting. You will be an honest person who is straightforward and has high standards. You will thrive on the busy nature of our ward and you will enjoy keeping things going when it gets tough.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
To provide the highest standard of nursing care.
To plan, assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care for individual patients and to supervise other staff in this activity.
To ensure an ongoing welcoming, caring and safe environment is provided for the patient and their carers.
To act as an advocate for the patient and family, providing them with information and support and directing them to the relevant support services where appropriate.
To start planning discharges from admission, liaising with the multidisciplinary team, other departments and community services as necessary.
To develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic, evidence based nursing care. This includes expanded role responsibilities, following appropriate training.
To be competent in the administration of medicines.
To ensure clinical practice is evidence based or peer reviewed “best practice”.
