A rare opportunity has arisen for a registered psychologist to join our Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT). The post-holder will work in the Hull and East Riding Team based at the Humber Centre, with travel in the region to see service users. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate practitioner with an interest in working with adults who present with complex mental health difficulties and offending/risk behaviours.
The post is suited to an experienced, knowledgeable and autonomous individual. The post-holder will support dynamic development within the SCFT, whilst providing evidence-based psychological interventions and practice.
You will benefit from being part of our friendly psychology team consisting of Clinical and Forensic Psychologists; we maintain strong cohesion as a department whilst being integral members of multi-disciplinary teams. There will be opportunities for peer support from the other Psychologists working within the Department, and possibly opportunities to work into our in-patient or prison pathways. The Department has well-established links with the University of Hull.
We are looking for a Psychologist with experience of managing forensic risk, and a strong track record of working with complex mental disorder. The successful candidate will provide strong, effective clinical leadership to the team and will work alongside regional and local counterparts.

The Principal Psychologist is accountable for providing high standard clinical services within the Forensic Community Team.
Key responsibilities include:
- High-Quality Psychology Service: Ensuring the provision of a high-quality psychology service to Forensic Community Services. This involves strong, effective leadership, engagement with service users, carers and partners, and a trauma-informed approach to specialist forensic consultation, assessment and intervention within the community.
- Coordination and Direction: Co-coordinate the planning and organisation of specialist psychological services within the locality area, in agreement with the Clinical Lead/Operational Manager. Provide clinical supervision, offer advice, and consult on service users' psychological care and risk management to colleagues.
- Collaboration and Expertise: Work alongside other teams and agencies, providing expert guidance for people accessing the teams services. Demonstrate advanced psychological skills, deliver high-quality care, and contribute to reviewing, developing and monitoring operational/clinical policy.
- Research and Development: Utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development within the relative service area.

Qualifications

- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology or its equivalent accredited by the BPS
- Additional short specialist courses with demonstrable impact on practice.

- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
Experience

- Demonstrable experience of working as a practitioner psychologist, to include a significant period of working at a senior level in the specific specialist field where the post is held
- Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
