Job overview

The role of Windows 11 Architect includes being responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the Windows 11 IT infrastructure using the latest technology ensuring all the IT systems that support businesses of any size function efficiently.

Main duties of the job

The responsibilities of an Architect can traverse BAU (business as usual) but will mainly be project work and typically includes, but is not limited to

• Ownership of Windows 11 Image

• Improvements to system efficiency

• Support and maintenance of underlying Windows 11 infrastructure

• Assessing security of existing environment

• Producing technical documentation

• Dealing with technical migrations (e.g. Azure migration)

• Technical de-bugging

• Analysis of infrastructure and web applications

• Server administration

• Working with automation / DevOps tools

• Dealing with archiving and cleansing services

• Technical and administrative workloads

• Maintaining knowledge of current and future information security threats and challenges

• Managing the Infrastructure incident support queues activities on a day-to-day operational basis whilst project is in flight

• Working closely with other Operations teams and vendors to ensure there is a coordinated approach to infrastructure support

• Provide high quality, responsive and consistent resolutions to project related IT Incidents

• Overseeing and managing the Windows 11 go live support queue, ensuring all tickets are resolved/fulfilled within SLA and customer satisfaction targets and other KPIs are achieved

• Providing periodic reporting and management information on infrastructure performance

• Work closely with various vendors, driving the resolution of incidents and fulfilment of requests, participating in regular service reviews

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This role will be responsible for identifying solutions and manage the design and implementation to support the transition to Windows 11

The role of Windows 11 Architect includes being responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the Windows 11 IT infrastructure using the latest technology ensuring all the IT systems that support businesses of any size function efficiently. Additionally, the role may also support and develop specific platforms and will concentrate on unifying communications, messaging and identity toward a seamless user experience.

This role is an integral part of the Digital Workplace team to ensure success of the product feature delivery and readiness for adoption. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for improving the workspace experience for people whilst helping drive the vison, strategy and roadmap for Office 365

As well as having highly developed technical skills in Office 365 the post holder is responsible for the future windows 11 desktop experience by ensuring the delivery of appropriate levels of customer service and support in line with corporate Service Level Agreements. This role requires a combination of technical skills, customer care, and business awareness – particularly of clinical priorities.

The post holder will be the design authority for Windows 11 desktop images, annual mandatory windows 11 feature updates, SCCM packaging for trust and O365 applications including the deployment of these to end users

The Post Holder will implement measures to reduce any windows 11 cyber identified risks. This may include implementing security controls, encryption, access controls, and other measures to protect against potential threats

The post-holder will plan relevant projects that impact on the organization including the delivery of new systems and new technical infrastructure.

The post-holder will actively participate in IT project implementation plans.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant Degree or Masters in IT Field or equivalent experience;
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate
  • Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent experience;
Desirable criteria
  • Citrix administration certificate
  • VMware administration certificate

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience with designing and implementing all aspects of Microsoft Azure
  • Specialist Knowledge of Office 365 and its products
  • Excellent working knowledge of SCCM 2016
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Operating Systems including Windows 11 and above
  • Architectural design, development, migration, management and supporting O365 implementations

Knowledge / Skills

Essential criteria
  • Understanding, implementation and modification of Group Policy with appropriate change control
  • Good understanding of security best practices
  • Strong knowledge of IT and technical management procedures
  • Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policy
Desirable criteria
  • Working knowledge of IT systems in a healthcare environment
