We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Pharmacist to join our Clinical Pharmacy Team at Wye Valley NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a patient facing role, at a specialist level, providing medicines optimisation. The roles offer the chance to work within our Frailty Hub, Acute and Emergency Medicine Hub), as well as more generalised medical and surgical wards.
The successful candidate alongside fellow B7 Clinical Pharmacists, will act as a role model for more junior colleagues, and will also provide operational support when necessary to the dispensary (currently 3-5 x 1hr slots per week).
There will also be the opportunity to study for an independent prescribing qualification.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will participate on a high level rotational basis in the day to day clinical Pharmacy service through a team approach, ensuring patients are reviewed in a timely manner and the best level service is provided in terms of available resource and capacity.
They will form part of our ward based teams, which includes Pharmacy Technicians and ATO’s.
The suitable applicant will be part of the team providing Pharmacy Emergency Duty Commitment, and weekend/ BH cover as per a rota.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as Pharmacist
- Working towards or completed a 2 year Clinical Pharmacy Diploma or equivalent hospital pharmacy experience. Note: year 1 (certificate level) must be completed
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of best practice and legal requirements relating to medicines optimisation
Experience

- Relevant experience as a hospital pharmacist in an acute health care setting
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Essential criteria
- Able to communicate effectively using a variety of methods (written, verbal, presentation)
- Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of clinical pharmacy practice in the acute setting

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
