Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised  Claims & Inquest Manager to join our professional team.

You will be responsible for providing guidance on all aspects of Legal Services . You'll co-ordinate the management and investigation of claims and potential claims in liaison with NHS Resolution and co-ordinate and manage the preparation and representation of the Trust at Inquests.

Main duties of the job

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree level education in relevant subject
  • Claims Management Diploma
Desirable criteria
  • Medical terminology awareness
  • Degree in Law (or other degree with completion of relevant conversion course GDL)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in the NHS, local authority, solicitors practice or insurance company handling claims
  • Experience of managing Coronial matters
  • Experience of defending claims against healthcare providers
  • Experience of managing an in-house legal team
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a similar role for a community healthcare provider

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • The ability to deliver training and presentations to audience from non-legal backgrounds
  • Competence in the use of Datix and NHS Resolution
