An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and innovative pharmacist to join our new medicines value and performance team.

The post holder will lead on a portfolio of work, collaborating with clinical specialists on developing pathways, evaluating medicines use and population health outcomes, identifying variation, supporting efficiency initiatives across the Kent & Medway region.

The post holder is responsible for provision of professional expertise to the Kent and Medway ICB on the optimisation and assurance in relation to NHS Payment System  excluded drugs, and high risk medication outside agreed tariff .

The post holder will lead and encourage safe, effective and quality-focused prescribing of medication, supporting informed, evidenced based usage across the Kent and Medway region.

The post holder will support the Associate Director, Medicines Value & Performance in the implementation and monitoring of best value medicines initiatives across K&M.

The post holder will work in collaboration with providers to design and implement best value medicines processes within the designated Trust(s) with a particular focus on delivering better outcomes for patients across K&M.

Qualifications and experience

  • MPharm in Pharmacy (or equivalent prior to 2002)
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Experience of working within a complex environment, managing relationships with multiple stakeholders
