An exciting opportunity has become available in the Dermatology Services Division at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH), and we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated individual to join our team.

This full time post involves working as a Medical Secretary for the Dermatology Team, working within the wider CCS admin team.

We are looking for someone who is helpful and enthusiastic, able to work flexibly, and who appreciates the importance of quality administration in the delivery of healthcare. The successful candidate should pride themselves on attention to detail, and distinguish themselves by their commitment to completing tasks to the best possible standard. They must be able to learn new tasks quickly, and as part of a team, contribute to refining processes to improve services.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • To manage and action as appropriate the emails of multiple clinicians, including consultants and genetics counsellors.
  • To have full autonomy for the diary management of multiple clinicians using personal judgment to plan ahead and manage commitments.
  • To support the appointment process through effective communication with all relevant parties (Central Booking Office, patient / families etc) in accordance with the Trust’s Access Policy and within stipulated timescales.
  • To be responsible for the preparation of clinic documents for patients coming to outpatient clinics.
  • To liaise regularly with external multidisciplinary team for patients being cared for locally and dealing with enquiries and action any urgent items.
  • At the request of consultant(s) to complete the relevant forms to add new clinics or amend existing clinic templates on EPIC and forward information to the Central Booking Office in-line with the Trust Access Policy

  • Highly computer literate, for example, extensive working knowledge of MS Office programmes
  • To demonstrate experience of working within a fast-paced admin environment for at least one year
  • Experience of working as part of a team as well as autonomously

  • Experience of managing challenging situations with patients, carers, and families
