The Business Manager role for Children’s Hospital assists in the operational management of the care group, ensuring that key quality, performance, activity and financial targets are met. The role is required to undertake a wide range of duties providing operational management, service development and improvement support to a range of specialties. Working with the care group team, the role will contribute to the delivery of Corporate targets and strategies.

 

The role leads on the management of data quality and capture for the Paediatric Hepatology department (including support for Paediatric Gastroenterology and Liver transplantation). This includes ensuring alignment of all data feeds, providing specific data to coding teams, monitoring and highlighting gaps in data, reporting on outcomes and providing leadership for weekly and monthly activity and performance reporting. This post will be responsible for monitoring contractual KPIs for the service and overseeing all contract reports.

Key priorities of the role include:

  • Lead on weekly and monthly activity and performance reporting, identifying data quality issues to maximise completeness of data on Trust systems
  • Monitoring and highlighting of gaps in data, undertaking diagnostic work and taking corrective action to ensure data quality is improved
  • Analysis and insight of survey feedback (working closely with internal teams
  • Production of annual summaries and reports of activities across children’s hospital
  • Assisting with KPI reports for the service
  • Liaising with the commissioning team for Paediatric Hepatology and producing clear contractual reports
  • Producing the Annual Report for the service
  • Line management
  • Leading on ad-hoc data requests, working with Business Intelligence and Contracting Teams
  • Ensuring reconciliation of data on a variety of Trust systems, taking corrective action to ensure that the care group receives income for all chargeable episodes within a care pathway
  • Support in the annual planning process for the care group
  • Support and lead (where required) service improvements and developments, with support of Service Managers and General Manager
  • Support with materials to help with care group Performance Meetings
  • Providing leadership to a small administrative/data team in the service
