Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, innovative and friendly team dedicated to improving our ward based clinical pharmacy services.  In this key post you will be working as part of an established multidisciplinary team and be responsible for providing a high-quality clinical pharmacy service to the medical wards on the Ealing Hospital site.  


The post holder will work closely with the Pharmacy Team Lead for Medicine to monitor and control medicine use within the Medicine division. They will support the strategic development of the pharmacy clinical and ward based services and lead on reducing risks associated with medicines within the Medicine division.

 

Main duties of the job

As an enthusiastic and patient oriented pharmacist, you will combine expert opinion and expert practice at the bedside to benefit patient care, and work at the forefront within the multidisciplinary team to help us implement, deliver and continually improve medicines management. 

Overall, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of clinical pharmacy services within the Medicine division.
  • Providing a safe, efficient and cost-effective pharmacy service to the Medicine division.
  • Contributing to the management of junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working within the Medicine division.
  • Supporting and helping to deliver key performance targets within the Medicine division, in particular those related to prescribing, optimizing medicines and the turnaround times of discharge medicines.

This position offers the opportunity to build on your clinical and management experience.  You will need excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills and will need to enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will need post-registration experience relevant to hospital pharmacy and will have the Post Graduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification.
