Job overview

This is a position for a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon. We are looking for an additional colleague to join our specialist team providing complex Colorectal care for patients across the north-east sector of Manchester.

The appointee will be a full member of the Colorectal cancer MDT and will be undertaking major resections, counselling patients diagnosed with cancer and presenting patients at the MDT. The appointee will also undertake benign work both day case and inpatient as demand dictates. 

Main duties of the job

1) To provide safe and effective non-elective care for patients requiring surgical admission whilst on-call

2) To provide expert care for patients diagnosed with a Colorectal malignancy at MDT, in the outpatient clinic and through performing surgery as required

3) To support elective care as required through outpatient clinics, endoscopy lists and day surgery as the timetable allows

4) To participate in relevant clinical and educational supervision duties and governance
