Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity available as a Ward Clerk, based on the Avocet ward at Woodlands, but offering support to the other acute wards within the unit, and reception as and when required.
The position is a full time post and an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to begin a career in the NHS. The successful candidate will build experience working in administration in a supportive and friendly team.
Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate exceptional communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with an emphasis on team work.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Data entry, typing, scanning, uploading to clinical systems and other general administrative office duties.
- Sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.
- Call handling, face to face liaison with service users, carers and colleagues.
- Monitoring and ordering of stationery and other procurement requests.
- To undertake any other appropriate tasks as requested by the Matron, Clinical Team Lead, or Senior Administrator to meet the needs of the service.
- Previous experience of Trust IT system would be of benefit but not essential as all training will be provided.
- Previous experience of all Microsoft packages is desirable in the successful candidate.
- Some reception cover will be required but full training will be given.
