A vacancy has arisen within the Admission department  for a Ward Clerk to provide clerical support to the Surgical Wards. 

You will need to be self-disciplined, motivated and be empathetic to all those you come into contact with. It is essential that you can prioritise your own workload, possess sound communication skills, work as part of a team, but also exercise initiative within set parameters.

We are looking for someone that adopts the Trust's principles and values and can demonstrate where they use these values in their motivations and drivers - in particular, their compassion, willingness to put the welfare of others above their own interests, and personal accountability.

The post holder must also be computer literate.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Receive general enquiries, via the telephone, email or face to-face, from, for example, patients, visitors, staff and others, possibly both internal and external.
  •  Undertake basic Clerical tasks, such as:
     - production and issuing of already prepared standard and routine letters
     - distribution of incoming/outgoing post
     - filing
     - retrieval of files
     - photocopying 
     - completion of standard Forms/Returns including the ordering of stock and supplies. 
  • Type/word process routine letters and other appropriate documents.
  • Input data to relevant computerised databases
  • Ensure that both Trust and local Policies and Procedures are followed as necessary to own work.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Training and Experience

  • Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above – or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience.
  • Computer literacy skills to RSA2, NVQ 2 or equivalent

  • Previous Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment
  • Previous Office/Administrative experience (1 year minimum)
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information
