This 10 PA post presents a unique and exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to drive an exciting, expanding cancer service in the HPB team at The Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust
This replacement post is an opportunity to maintain, expand and develop HPB and Renal service provision and research focused work for patient benefit.
This Post comes with a 'Golden Hello' recruitment premia. Appointed candidates will received 20% of the total first year salary. Payment would be paid at 50% on commencement of employment and 50% following 12 months employment.
Main duties of the job
10 PA Consultant in Medical Oncology with a responsibility in Hepatobiliary & Renal Cancer for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
- Opportunity to join the Consultant Oncology Hepatobiliary & Renal Teams (candidates who have preference for other sites besides renal cancer are encouraged to discuss their preferences)
- The post will be based at Nottingham City Hospital Campus with outpatient clinics at the City Hospital and at Kings Mill Hospital

- None of these tumours sites will be single-handed practice and will involve working along-side colleagues already specialising in each tumour site.
Working for our organisation
The speciality serves a resident population of 1.1 million and currently sees approximately 5,000 new patients each year (at City Hospital and Kingsmill); providing a comprehensive range of non-surgical oncology services to the East Midlands.
Oncology has invested in a high calibre acute oncology nursing team supporting the acute care of cancer patients admitted to city hospital campus as well as providing outreach support at Queen’s medical centre.

Training and Qualification
Essential criteria
- Full GMC registration and Licence to Practice
- MRCP or equivalent
- CCT expected within 6 months of interview date
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Experience and special interest in Hepatobiliary Cancer
- • Experience and special interest in renal cancer (or in agreed second site) and further support and training can be given if needed.
- • Experience in prescribing and managing patients with systemic anti-cancer therapy
Desirable criteria
- • Experience of working with a complex multi-disciplinary team
Skills
Essential criteria
- • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- • Excellent team leadership skills
- • Ability to convey highly complex, sensitive information to patients, carers and staff utilizing advanced interpersonal skills in both written and verbal formats.
- • Able to develop, present and operationalise coherent ideas for service development and delivery

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
