Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, motivated member of staff to join our already established team on a substantive basis.
As a band 7 nurse you should act as a role model, follow and promote the CARE values and use underpinning strategies to support the Trusts strategic objectives.
The successful person will be approachable, motivated, aspiring, kind and caring and must be able to deliver bad news in a caring, compassionate and supportive manner. They must work collaboratively with the rest of the Head and Neck team. and promote high standards of care.

- Experience in NHS Hospital Setting
- Excellent communicator

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NMC Level One Registered Nurse
- Advanced Communication skills training or willing to undertake
- First Level Degree or equivalent experience/ knowledge
- Teaching & Assessing Qualification
- Evidence of Continuous professional development
- Level 2 Psychology training or willing to undertake
Desirable criteria
- Post–Graduate Diploma or MSc in nursing or equivalent higher professional qualifications in nursing /Specialist area
- Independent and Supplementary Nurse Prescribing
- Programme of study relevant to Head & Neck nursing practice
- Formal leadership / managerial trainingCancer, palliative care training/course
Further Training
Desirable criteria
- Teaching in coping skills, camouflage advice and prosthetics
Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive post registration experience
- Experience in Head & Neck ENT ,Oncology or palliative care
- Clinical teaching practice
- Able to present and receive complex information within the multi professional team
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Demonstrate self-awareness and understanding of personal accountability
- Ability to support colleagues, patients and relatives/carers in distressing circumstances
- Evidence of ability to manage change.
- Evidence of effective time management
- Encourage change in others and foster a collaborative approach within a MultiDisciplinary Team
- Undertake audit and/or research in a relevant area

Contractual

- Up to 37.5 hours
- Flexible approach to work
- Full UK driving licence
