Cleaning Supervisor

Band 3

Job overview

Who are we? The Cleaning Department is a large team providing cleaning to all areas of the hospital. Cleaners are generally assigned to specific location, enabling them to feel part of the local area team as well and build great relationships. Cleaning is a vital service within the hospital, helping to control the spread of infection, and providing a welcoming and safe environment for all our patients, staff and visitors.

We provide full training on our cleaning procedures, the use of our new microfibre mopping system, the cleaning schedules and required cleaning frequencies, and use of cleaning chemicals. We are also able to support our supervisors in achieving their ILM Level 3 in First Line Management and their food hygiene certificate.

As part of our service improvement programme, we have a number of vacancies for Cleaning Supervisors with both full and part time shift patterns available. Shift patterns will require a  working weekend on a rota basis, for which enhancements are paid.

Main duties of the job

What is the role? The successful candidates will be responsible for assigning daily work locations, supporting cleaners by visiting them every day in their place of work, providing ad-hoc training, appraising staff and ensuring correct cleaning procedures are being followed.
