Job overview
Technical Support: You'll provide technical assistance and support to NHS staff with hardware, software, and network-related issues. This can involve troubleshooting problems, diagnosing technical faults, and providing solutions promptly to minimize disruption to healthcare services.
User Assistance: You'll assist users in understanding and utilizing various IT systems and applications effectively. This might involve providing training sessions, creating user guides, or offering one-on-one support to staff members as needed.
System Maintenance: You'll be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of IT systems within the NHS. This includes installing software updates, performing system backups, and ensuring that security protocols are followed to safeguard sensitive patient information.
Incident Management: You'll respond to IT-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner, following established protocols and procedures. This could involve prioritizing and escalating issues as necessary to ensure swift resolution and minimal impact on patient care.
Main duties of the job
• To provide assistance, advice, and fault resolution to users of IT equipment, systems and network.
• To ensure that all support calls and requests are dealt with promptly and effectively in accordance with defined policies and procedures.
• To install operating systems and software applications
• To Assist in system upgrades and roll-outs across the Trust as directed
• To configure, audit, and install new PCs, printers and other equipment.
• To assist in replacement and upgrading of existing IT equipment, including data transfer and replacement of hard disks, memory etc. • To dispose of redundant IT equipment in accordance with organizational procedures.
• To assist with general systems support and housekeeping tasks
• To assist with service desk calls, incident logging, and incident resolution and prioritize calls according to defined agreements.
• To liaise with colleagues in the escalation of issues to ensure speedy resolution.
• Ensure accurate and consistent data entry on all appropriate systems to maintain Data Quality.
• To help maintain and update existing standard operational procedure documentation.
• To professionally represent the IT department and the organisation at all times
• All activities will be conducted within the context of relevant IT professional standards, including, but not limited to, ITIL.
• Any other duties, which may be required, that is of a similar nature and appropriate to the grade

Applicant requirements
