Job Advert – Band 7 Practice Educator

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Dialog+ Practice Educator for a 12 month fixed term position. The post holder will lead on the development and delivery of a training programme to implement Dialog+ into clinical services across the trust and with our partners. We are looking for someone innovative and engaging, who will be able to put patient care at the heart of their sessions.

The post holder will have previous experience of delivering training to stakeholders as well as an in-depth understanding of Dialog+ to be able to share this in an engaging way in their sessions. This is a complex change programme which will require the development and delivery of a robust training programme to support the implementation. The post holder will work at pace and deliver consistent and high-quality training. 

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a number of training elements as part of a wider training package, including the delivery of training both face to face and virtually as required for different services, as well as the development of online training resources including communication videos.

The post holder will have excellent analytical and performance management skills, ensuring the reporting of training progress including creating, collating and maintaining data reports on this progress on a monthly basis, as well as evaluating training results, areas of concern and suggestions for improvement.   

Main duties of the job

There is an expectation for training delivery both face to face and hybrid, sometimes out of standard working hours to cover all services. The role will align closely with the new strategic objectives, and require close links with the community across our footprint.  

Main responsibilities

  • Design and implement all elements of the training programme as mentioned above
  • Prepare materials for sessions and online package
  • Assess trainee and team performance and understanding of the training material
  • Plan and schedule training sessions
  • Select and book venues as required
  • Report on training progress using developed data reports and to the detail required
  • Link with our partner organisations, both at place and across the region to ensure alignment including the voluntary sector and people with lived experience in our communities

Person specification

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a good understanding of teaching and/or coaching methodologies and tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work at pace and understand the complexities of the programme of work
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Previous use of Dialog+ would be advantageous
  • Recent/current experience in a clinical role
  • Recent/current experience of teaching/learning/assessing

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • On-going professional registration e.g. RMN/RNLD
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development that supports clinical practice
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Professionally recognised teaching or coaching qualification
  • Educated to Masters level
  • PGCE or equivalent or willingness to work towards
