Job overview

The Royal Stoke Emergency Departments is going through an exciting period of positive  development and change at the moment. We welcome motivated, enthusiastic and  innovative Nurses to join our ED team.

We have a workforce model focused on providing safe and effective patient care, leadership and development of the nursing team. You will be offered a period of supernumerary duty as well as training from a dedicated team and support and guidance  through acclimatization and preceptorship.

Full and part time hours are available; you will be required to work an internal rotation pattern covering day and night shifts over 7 days including weekends and public holidays. 

 

Main duties of the job

In this post you will be responsible for providing on going care of patients and providing an effective care pathway within the Emergency department. 

We are committed to developing a culture in line with our values that improves quality and enhances the patient experience, and you will play a vital part in developing new ways of working to achieve this goal.

Candidates ether need to be on the NMC register as an Adult or Mental Health Nurse AND have six months acute experience. You must be flexible to the demands of the service and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team within a large, busy and evolving department. Excellent communication skills are essential for this post.

  • Recognised mentorship qualification
  • Completed preceptorship

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Has experience as a student or registered nurse in an emergency department setting.
  • Experience in ANTT.
Desirable criteria
  • Trauma / minors or triage experience
