Band 3 – Pharmacy Senior Assistant Technical Officer for Quality

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised, self-motivated, dedicated Senior Pharmacy Technical Officer to join our Pharmacy Technical Services Quality Team at the University Hospital of North Midlands.

Main duties of the job

Role Summary

The post holder is expected to

  • Complete Quality checking of Prepack and Over-labelled products following completion of packing.
  • Participate in the administration of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Undertake both Physical and Viable environmental monitoring of the clean room facilities.
  • Enumerate microbial media following incubation

The post holder will work during the week and will work weekends as part of a weekend rota.

Education and qualifications

4 GCSEs grade C (new grading 4) or above or equivalent must include Maths, English and Science

OR equivalent relevant qualification to area of speciality 

Experience

Experience of working to SOP’s and experience in the use of computerised systems (Word/Excel).

IT skills

Experience of working with standard operating procedures

  • Ability to investigate queries, taking action if appropriate

  • Awareness of Health and safety issues including COSHH
  • Manual dexterity and able to make neat and accurate records

  • At least 1 years’ previous experience in a similar role
