Job overview

We are seeking to recruit a part-time Facilities Assistant (cleaner) to join our team at The Hellingly Centre, The Drive, Hellingly, East Sussex, BN27 4ER 

The hours are:  Monday and Tuesday afternoons between 12:30 pm to 20:00 pm, a total of 15 hours per week. Opportunities to work additional hours would be available once in post and trained.

Applicants must have good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to undertake varied manual tasks, and have experience of working within the Cleaning Industry or the Catering Industry and with the public.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can work equally well on their own or as part of a team, to deliver and achieve high standards of environmental cleaning and prepare meals for service.

We are looking for people who recognise the importance of a clean environment and food safety as well as the important of adherence to infection prevention and control standards at all times.

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to: - vacuum cleaning, damp mopping of floors, damp dusting of furniture/fittings, cleaning of mirrors and internal glass, sanitary ware, e.g. baths, showers, sinks, toilets, washing of tiled surfaces and paintwork, high dusting of walls and ceilings etc.. In addition the role requires some food handling to support the provision of a meal service for patients in our care.

Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
