This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to join the BI Team on a 1 Year Fixed Term basis with responsibility for Operational Support of the Trust’s in house data warehouse and BI services.

You will be part of the team working with Microsoft BI tools to develop the Trust data warehouse and business intelligence platform, helping us develop the information infrastructure.

You will support new electronic patient record projects that are rolling out throughout the Trust. 

Main duties of the job

You will also be required to provide additional support to the BI Data Analytics function in respect of additional reporting requirements related to the roll-out and maintenance.

Working closely with other BI developers and information analysts you will be expected to translate internal and external business requirements into BI solutions using the Microsoft BI stack and Power BI reporting Tools.

A strong work ethic is essential, together with an ability to manage multiple projects to tight time scales and having the communication skills and confidence to present complex data and themes

As a team, we recognise that data needs to be easily accessed and understood by frontline clinicians for it to be useful.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Masters level qualification required or five years extensive work experience in Business Intelligence
  • Mathematics Qualification
  • IT qualification (such as A-level, Microsoft Office Specialist, ECDL, etc.)
  • Evidence of professional and/or personal Self Development

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Extensive knowledge of Business Intelligence
  • In-depth knowledge of Health Informatics and current NHS affairs.
  • Extensive Knowledge of Relational Database Design & Data Warehousing

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience in Information Analysis & Report Development
  • Extensive Experience with Data Warehouse’s / Microsoft T-SQL Design and Querying.
  • Experience of Project & Programme Management

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Analytical (at an Advance Level)
  • Excellent ability to communicate (including large presentations) and convey complex data to a wide audience of professionals both internal and external to the Trust
  • Ability to work to tight timescales and prioritise competing demands.
