Trosolwg o'r swydd

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been providing a comprehensive CAMHS service in Buckinghamshire for 7 years. The new service is based on the ‘Thrive Model’ and during October 2015 the service transformed away from the traditional CAMHS tiered model to a service strongly influenced by children young people, their parents/carers and stakeholders. The new model is based on ease of access, getting advice, consultation, support, and specialist clinical pathways.

We are seeking a 0.6 WTE Consultant Paediatrician to join our Neurodevelopmental team in the Buckinghamshire CAMH Service. The post is based at the Sue Nichols Centre, Aylesbury but the role is countywide and may require clinical activity at other bases such as High Wycombe or Amersham. The post holder will carry no responsibility for inpatients.

The Neurodevelopmental Pathway offers a service to children and young people with a range of neurodevelopmental conditions, with and without mental health co-morbidities. The Consultant Paediatrician role would be split across the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team and the ADHD Clinic, providing expert support to young people and their families as part of a broad and experienced MDT.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate their ability to adapt to the changing circumstances of modern mental healthcare provision. We welcome applications from highly motivated colleagues to work collaboratively with our team managers, and to provide leadership and clinical expertise to our highly skilled and committed multidisciplinary teams. The teams are dynamic and forward-looking with a wide range of disciplines working together in a highly collaborative, multi-skilled and effective way.

There are also close links with Oxford University which include a term-time weekly academic meeting, regular research meetings, research opportunities, journal clubs and audit meetings. The Trust hosts or collaborates with a wide range of research infrastructure. In September 2016, a partnership between Oxford Heath NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Oxford was awarded £12.8M to support a new NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC; Director Prof John Geddes) focused on mental health and dementia.

The Trust welcomes applications from appropriately qualified clinicians who would like to work with the BRC, CLAHRC or NIHR CRN (Clinical Research Network) as part of their agreed job plan.
