If you are looking for an exciting new challenge Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) which is a Specialist Mental Health and Community NHS Foundation Trust, is the place for you.

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Sustainability Manager on a permanent basis.  

The Sustainability Manager is accountable to the Associate Director of Estates, Capital & Property has delegated responsibility from the Greening the NHS Implementation and Governance Group (GIG) and Trust Board for ensuring the development and delivery of all elements of the Lancashire South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Green Plan.  

Main duties of the job

To meet strategic objectives, the role and associated responsibilities will align with the Trust’s key enabling strategies. These include: Clinical, Quality, Service User and Carer, People Improvement and Culture, communications & engagement, digital, estates, finance and research & development. This will help ensure that LSCft will achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2040.


The post holder will be based at Guild Park, Goosnargh.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Specialist knowledge acquired through relevant training and/or experience to Masters’ level equivalent.
  • Evidence of relevant continued professional development

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of climate change, sustainability and environmental, energy and travel management
  • Good knowledge of Computer skills, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of reducing energy usage and reducing carbon emissions.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in service management, commissioning or contracting within an NHS setting
  • Experience of preparing business plans, grant applications, strategies or other similar documents.
  • Experience in managing a large and complex caseload, prioritising and reprioritising to meet deadlines.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good organisational skills, and the ability to identify priorities
  • Excellent networking and relationship building skills
  • Good influencing skills up to Executive level
