Job overview

LSCFT Bed Management Team are looking to recruit a dynamic Bed Management & Flow Co-ordinator.
The post holder will work with all inpatient and community services within the adult and older adult mental health services to identify and place
patients appropriately and timely, working to agreed protocols and procedures. You will work as an integral member of the team, working in a rewarding and busy environment.


This interesting and varied role requires the post holder to be committed to teamwork, whilst also having the ability to work well on their own using
their initiative based on knowledge and experience. The Bed Management Team can be extremely busy and demanding, therefore the post holder must possess the ability to manage a variety of tasks and be able to prioritise accordingly.


You will be required to possess excellent communication skills and be expected to represent the service with professionalism when dealing with
confidential and sensitive issues. You will be expected to have proven organisational skills and a strong commitment to personal and professional development.


You will be expected to work shifts over a 7 day service. It is also essential that you are able to work nights.

Main duties of the job

The post holder works with all inpatient and community services within the adult and older adult mental health services to identify and place
patients in to beds appropriately and timely, working to agreed protocols and procedures. The post holder will also work with local Acute Medical
Hospitals.


The post holder will be expected to work with a degree of autonomy and co-ordinate his/her activities with the members of the Team in order that
an efficient service is provided.


The post holder will carry out the duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the organisation of the work and to assist
the Team to maximise the most effective bed management service. It is essential that the post holder exercises initiative commensurate with the
role and it is vital that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
The post holder will demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users’ and their carers.
