Consultant Psychiatrist Community Rehabilitation

Consultant

West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Job overview

We are delighted to invite applications for a job share role for a Consultant Psychiatrist for our Hammersmith and Fulham Community Rehabilitation Service. This is a well-established and successful team where the current Consultant is remaining half time with the team on a flexible retirement basis. You will be part of a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team with highly skilled clinicians and excellent team relationships, both within the trust and across the range of local stakeholders.

The service aims to help change the trajectories for those who have traditionally been high users of acute psychiatric services and to improve their levels of clinical symptomatology, levels of functioning and social inclusion.  Our Community rehabilitation teams have excellent links with housing, LA, social care and range of VCSE organisations, and offer the opportunity to engage in high intensity work with low caseloads.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will have experience of working with people with a history of severe and enduring mental health problems and will hold a positive and optimistic understanding of recovery journeys. Ideally you will have a keen interest in change management and service delivery. There are numerous opportunities for training or to attend specialist events.
