Job overview
- To provide administrative support to the Medical, Nursing and Therapy Teams in Rapid Response.
- To contribute to the effective running of the Clayponds site and community teams as needed. This will include providing cover for the reception, switchboard and ward administrators.
- To ensure the successful implementation of a single administration team that supports the clinical as well as the business functions.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the day to day administration across intermediate care with other members of the team.
- Responsible for supporting colleagues ensuring work is completed within an agreed timeline.
- This role will act as point of contact for patients and visitors, this will entail being calm, professional and empathetic whilst dealing with potentially sensitive and stressfully situations.
- The function of this role is IT based in line with the service objective of being paper light, this will entail fully utilising SystmOne, and Microsoft office (including excel and outlook).
- To provide administrative and word processing support to both the Rapid Response teams, dealing with queries and requests from doctors and nurses as required.
- To ensure that all relevant paperwork when necessary, is completed and emailed to Social Services following the decision of the multi-disciplinary meeting.
- To organise the patients’ discharge as directed by the team including ensuring referrals are forwarded to the Care Management Team and organising transportation to their destination.
- Upload notes to patients records on SystmOne.
- Maintain and monitor ward stationery supplies recording stock when necessary.
- To ensure correspondence is sent out appropriately, including patient discharge letters to GPs and relevant information to the Social Services and the Care Management Team.
- Arrange transport to other hospitals.
- Take Minutes for Team Meetings.
