Job overview

We are currently looking for a part time Band 6 Memory Nurse in the East/North East locality for 30 hours a week, preferably over 4 days between Monday-Friday. This locality is based near Chapeltown in Leeds LS7. We are looking for a committed and motivated practitioner who wants to consolidate their nursing practice in memory services and develop their skills, experience and knowledge. The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the capacity to work independently in the assessment for dementia process and offering post diagnostic support.

Main duties of the job

It is desirable for the candidate to have post registration experience, and experience with memory assessments and evidence based tools used for diagnosis. You will be able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of the needs of service users with dementia and have an ability to support service users and their families/carers practically and emotionally post diagnosis.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will need to be able to work independently out in the community as well as being part of a Multi-Disciplinary team. The current role within the team does include hybrid working, as well as running a clinic once a week. It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence and use of a car as the role involves visiting service users at home. Successful applicants will be offered a comprehensive continuing professional development package which will include access to appraisal, clinical and managerial supervision.

 

Service operating hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
