Safeguarding Children Advisor & Practice Development Lead

West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced professional to join our Safeguarding Children Team at West London NHS Trust as a Safeguarding Children Advisor & Practice Development Lead.  

The post holder will work closely with all levels of staff in Trust Staff to provide a seamless service for local families and children.

You will work within the Safeguarding Children team and part of the overall Trust Wide Safeguarding Team.

To provide safeguarding children supervision, safeguarding children training and provide advice and expertise on all safeguarding children matters to all staff specialist support to all staff and across NHS Trust as required.

Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse/Registered Nurse with current registration
  • Post-registration qualification in Midwifery, Registered Children’s Nurse, Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) or School Nurse.( Evidence of having completed a specific programme with a child and family focus especially child development ).
  • Evidence of continuing professional education and training at degree level

  • Teaching Qualification or equivalent

Knowledge and experience
