At the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust we are a leading General Hospital and specialist tertiary centre for cancer. 

We are looking to recruit a reliable and flexible person to manage a number of administrative duties within our Department who will need to be organised, enthusiastic and conscientious.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to provide a high standard of support to the Nuclear Medicine team. We expect a significant proportion of the workload to be appointment focused to ensure the department is able to meet the service requirements.  Secondly, to supply administrative assistance to the team under guidance to help maintain our quality management system.  This will be in conjunction with our senior leadership team.

A good working knowledge of office administration as you may be required to provide ad hoc administrative support to our Nuclear Medicine Clinicians. 

Your role will require good organisational and communication skills. You should possess good time management skills, a good telephone manner, good general computing/data management skills and the ability to use your initiative when required.  

You will need to have previous administrative experience, and be able to work unsupervised.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will provide general administrative support to colleagues and managers in the Nuclear Medicine team ensuring internal procedures are followed to a high standard and deadlines are met. This will include but not limited to booking patient appointments and preparing key performance statistics (KPI`s).  In addition provide support to the quality management team and provide a quality focused and professional service to the trust and service users

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of secretarial and administrative procedures and systems acquired through training to NVQ 3/A level or demonstrable and equivalent recent experience

Knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of specialist function/relevant practical experience
  • Proven administrative experience
  • Accurate transcription of minutes
  • Computer literate and competent use of all elements of Microsoft Office, email and internet skills, database and presentation skills
  • Experience of managing sensitive/confidential information. Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality requirements
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of working in a Healthcare environment
