Job overview

As a Support Worker in Intermediate Care Service, you'll play a crucial role in providing essential support and care to individuals in need. Main duties of the job

The main duties of a Support Worker in Admission Avoidance include providing personal care to patients, delivering and demonstrating prescribed equipment, performing vital observations, ECGs and venepuncture, supporting patients with exercises initiated by physiotherapists and maintaining accurate records.

 

You will also collaborate with healthcare professionals, communicate effectively with patients and their families, ensure a safe and clean environment, and actively participate in training and development opportunities.

 

Adaptability, compassion and attention to detail are essential in this role to provide high quality care and support to patients in their homes.

  • Experience of undertaking near side patient observations.
  • Experience of following prescribed care and escalating needs as appropriate
  • Have an understanding of basic human needs, which may include physical, emotional & social care needs
  • Physical ability to perform duties as outlined in job description.
  • Experience of assisting people to achieve their activities of daily living
  • Ability to recognise changes in the someone’s observations, condition or abnormal simple test results (e.g. oxygen saturation and heart rate) and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to deliver intervention as delegated and alter, adapt or stop an activity.
  • Ability to work independently within limits of skill and knowledge and aware of when to seek advice.
