As an integrated mental health, learning disability and community Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including:
• Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, forensic services including low and medium secure care.
• Specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
• Community physical health and well-being services for children and adults.
The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,000 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a CYPMH inpatient Specialist Social worker at The Cove, Heysham and Lancashire.
The aim of this team is to offer responsive and effective assessments and treatment of all young people aged 13-18 accessing CYPMH inpatient care. The team devise collaborative care plans and risk assessments based on positive risk taking and least restrictive practice principles. The service is committed to delivering quality care and being able to reflect on the importance of the service user journey and experience is critically important to this role.

The CYPMH inpatient Specialist Social worker role is central to the safe and effective running of the service. We require an outstanding clinical and operational leader who is committed to providing a high quality, safe and effective service. The successful applicant will be encouraged to develop clinically and professionally. A high level of emotional intelligence will be required in the successful applicant, and the ability to be part of a cohesive MDT team will be critical to the role.
You will be expected to serve the whole of the multi-racial and multi-cultural community in Lancashire and South Cumbria with demonstrable values and commitment to diversity and anti-discriminatory practice. This will require the successful applicant to be a leader, mentor, teacher and role model.
This is an outstanding opportunity for career development, in an emerging area of CAMHS clinical practice, expanding to support young people on the edge of hospital admission, as well as those receiving high quality inpatient care.

- CQSW, CSS, DipSW or equivalent.
- Post graduate /registration training (which is relevant to the post) to Masters Degree level or the equivalent experience / training.
- Evidence of post registration training in Mental Health.
Knowledge

- In-depth knowledge of social care issues and how this relates to care delivery.
- Working knowledge of current legislation and national initiatives
- Highly developed knowledge of child and adolescent development
Experience

- Substantial post registration experience.

- Experience of working with children and young people who have mental health problems
