Paramedic Emergency Services Sector Manager
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cheshire & Merseyside PES Operations Team in the role of Sector Manager. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Sector Manager will be accountable for the effective planning and delivery of operational performance and clinical quality to patients within a specified Sector. Responsible for the effective management and leadership of all frontline and administrative staff within the Sector ensuring Trust objectives and targets are met. responsible for delivery of the Paramedic Emergency Service in a Sector of Cheshire & Merseyside.

As Sector Manager you will be accountable for the delivery of our Paramedic Emergency Services across your Sector. You will be required to work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of those services. You will lead a team of managers to ensure staff are supported in their roles and ensure business targets are achieved. You will work as part of the Trust’s on-call team and will be a in a key leadership role here at NWAS.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Qualifications and Education

- Educated to degree level with current equivalent experience, and must be willing to work towards a qualification of this level if not in place
- State Registered professional or previously registered and willing to regain
- Relevant post graduate management qualification or equivalent supervisory/ general management experience
- Holder of Silver Command certificate achieved through CBRN Commanders training (to be held or acquired in post)
- Specialist training and knowledge in the AITC role (to be acquired in post)
- Specialist training and knowledge in the Silver CBRN role (to be acquired in post)
- MIMMS (to be held or acquired in post) Evidence of relevant CPD

- Operational experience as a practising registered professional.
- Significant experience of supervision and management of operational services within the NHS, providing knowledge of: Delivery of high quality clinical services Analysis and deployment of resource to match patient demand Operational performance management Emergency and contingency planning Risk management Good HR practice
- Specialist knowledge and experience of undertaking the AITC role and also the Silver CBRN role.
- Major Incident management
- Experience of financial and budget management
- Significant experience of staff management
