Main duties of the job

The Trauma & Orthopaedic department have an exciting new opportunity to recruit a Referral To Treatment Data Analyst on a fixed term basis.   Working with the Access Manager the successful candidate will be expected to validate our waiting lists and cohort of over 3,000 patients in accordance to the Trust’s access policy to ensure our patients waiting times are kept up to date and accurate, as well as provide performance reporting to be used at a high level. 

You should have experience of working in a busy, target focused environment, have excellent communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure while paying close attention to detail. The ability to work well within a team is important as the successful candidate will work within a small close knit hard working team. 

The hours are 8-4 Monday to Friday.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

What you’ll do

•    Work to agreed objectives and given freedom to do this in own way, working within professional and organisational boundaries.
•    Audit and validate data entered into clinical and administration systems such as HICSS, E-Docs, E-Camis, Camis ensuring data are kept accurate and complete as well as being entered in a timely manner.
•    Create reports by inputting and manipulating complex data using tools such as Excel, Business Objects. 
•    Create and maintain training guides for Care Group clinical systems with the aim of training multi professional staff.
•    Design, produce and analyse reports to support data submission to Trust and National bodies and validate as required. 
•    Liaise with and assist the Medical Staffing Coordinator in the publishing of the clinical rota.
•    Implement Trust and Care Group policies, propose and implement changes for practices within own work area.

•    Detailed specialist and organisational knowledge of health service policy in relation to access targets.
•    Experience working in an administrative capacity in a customer focused environment.
•    Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems.
•    Able to work independently with minimum supervision to analyse current processes and develop monitoring systems.
•    Able to learn and assimilate information quickly.
•    Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in working with complex data.

Qualifications / training required

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy skills demonstrable to GSCE pass level or equivalent standard
  • NVQ3/A Level or equivalent experience Application
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office
Desirable criteria
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification (or working towards). Application
  • Knowledge of medical terminology Application

Previous or relevant experience necessary
