Job overview

We are seeking a Podiatry Assistant/Foot Care support worker to join our Podiatry service. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and highly motivated with experience of caring for others.  Experience of working in a team in a community setting would be valuable.  This post is based in the tri-borough area of Inner London covering; Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.  

Candidates should have evidence of practical skills e.g. demonstration of manual dexterity. Basic IT skills as well as good verbal and written communication are also required. Good time management the ability to prioritise and organisational skills are also needed. the knowledge level is GCSE or equivalent in English as well as basic skills in literacy level 1 and numeracy level 3

We are looking for someone with a minimum of NVQ care level 2 or equivalent experience who is willing to undertake NVQ level if necessary

Main duties of the job

·       To deliver an effective and competent level of foot care under the guidance and supervision of the clinical podiatrist.

 

·       To monitor patients foot and general health and report your findings to the Podiatrist to ensure appropriate care pathways are used.

           

·       To support your colleagues within the service and the wider multidisciplinary setting to ensure that the patient maintains mobility and independence within the community.

 

·       To support your local team in ensuring the day to day running of the service is efficient and smooth i.e. stock control, equipment maintenance.
