FIXED TERM APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE COVERING A TRAINING POST ST3 LEVEL TRAINING ROTATION

Applications are invited for a Fixed Term Appointment for Service Covering a Training Post (STRH) Level on a Training rotation at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board based at the University Hospital of Wales.

There are 2 posts available covering 2 rotations these are as follows: -

1 x Emergency Surgery (Upper GI)/General Surgery
1 x Hepatobiliary/General Surgery

Essential criteria
  • MBBS or equivalent Medical Qualification
  • Completion of MRCS
  • completed relevant competencies in General Surgery
  • Ability to prioritise clinical need
  • Effective communication skills- verbal and written up to date with current medical practices
Desirable criteria
  • Completed a minimum of 12 months on call for elective general surgery
  • Evidence of training in basic surgical skills
  • Evidence of relevant academic and research achievements e.g degrees, prizes, awards
  • Evidence of knowledge of principles of audit and skills
