Band 7 Physiotherapist – The Bay area.

30hrs per week

If you are keen to combine an excellent forward thinking and dynamic working environment with fantastic lifestyle opportunities in South Cumbria or North Lancashire, this community learning disability physiotherapy post is for you!

LSCFT learning disability care group has a small, but growing Physiotherapy workforce with big visions for improving our service, delivering high quality assessment and intervention for adults with learning disabilities in the community. Based in Lancaster, Kendal or Barrow you will work in an experienced multi-disciplinary team, with overarching regular supervision and support from Principal learning disability physiotherapist. We are committed to ongoing professional development of our workforce and driving service development initiatives.

In this role you will work with clinical colleagues from a range of professions to deliver person centred, evidence based physiotherapy. We provide a wide range of Physiotherapy assessment and interventions for people with learning disabilities who cannot successfully access mainstream Physiotherapy services. This results in a varied and interesting caseload, where no two days are the same. We are fortunate to be able to offer a truly person centred approach, using creative approaches to achieve the best outcome to meet each individual’s needs. We also provide lifelong postural management for people with complex physical disabilities across The Bay area.

This includes offering high quality assessment, analysis and providing individual 24 hour management plans to families/carers. To achieve this we work closely with professionals from partner agencies such as wheelchair services, local authority occupational therapy and orthotics. As Band 7 you will lead a small team of B6/B5 physiotherapists, allocating cases appropriately and offering quality regular supervision and skills development.

The Community learning disability team in the Bay is a friendly supportive multi-disciplinary team based across 3 sites. We pride ourselves in our holistic approach to supporting the health needs of adults with learning disabilities and our drive for continuous service development across all professions. We meet monthly as a whole team alternating virtual and face to face meetings. This post would suit an experienced learning disability physiotherapist who is ready to progress in a highly specialist clinical role and contribute to improving our service at an exciting time.

We will support you to achieve your potential as both a clinician and a leader. If you would like to join us on our improvement journey and take the next exciting steps in your career, we’d love to hear from you.
