The main purpose of the role is to lead and manage the Children’s ADHD service across South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust. The post holder will take a lead role in delivering and developing the ADHD service in line with the NICE Clinical Guideline 87, the Diagnosis and Management of ADHD for Children and Young People, including providing professional and clinical leadership.

With support and guidance, from the Head of Service and Medical Lead, the post holder will:

       Represent the Children’s ADHD service and Trust locally, regionally and nationally whilst engaging stakeholders from clinical and non-clinical backgrounds. This will include PHA, SPPG, schools, voluntary organisations managerial and clinical responsibilities.

       Work with and across all disciplines and staff groups to deliver a quality service to children, young people and their families.

       Be a non-medical prescriber

       Demonstrate advanced clinical skills, assessment, intervention and decision making when undertaking management of the service, clinical practice and supervision of staff.

       Promote the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care across Children’s ADHD services in doing so identify and manage areas of risk relating to care / service delivery.

       Support the delivery of the Child Health Single Point of Entry Team; including chairing SPOE clinical triage meeting

 

Essential Criteria for Shortlisting

Experience

 

1.    Worked for at least 2 years in a senior management role (experience at Band 7 (or equivalent) or above, within a service working with Children and Young People with ADHD and or other neurodevelopmental needs or comorbid disorders

2.    Have a minimum of 3 years post registration experience working with children and young people with complex and/or developmental needs including diagnosis or potential diagnosis of ADHD or other neurodevelopmental condition at band 6 or above.

3.    2 years’ experience delivering against challenging performance objectives meeting a range of key targets and making significant improvements

4.    Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders internal and external to the organisation in a role which has contributed to the improvement of service delivery

5.    2 years’ experience of managing people and governance

 

 

Qualifications/ Registration

1.    Applicant must be a registered nurse on the live NMC register - Part 1 Children’s, or Part 1 Mental Health, or Part 1 Learning Disability

OR

·       Hold the Specialist Community Public       Health Nursing – Health Visitor Qualification

OR

·       Hold the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing – School nurse qualification

 

2.    A Minimum of 5 years post registration experience, and 3 years recent management experience, including managing staff

 

3.    Have successfully completed V300 course, be an Independent /Supplementary Prescriber as registered with NMC

OR

·       Be currently completing V300 course

OR

·       Be committed to completing the V300 course within the next 2 years

Other

Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by The Organisation which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
