We are looking to hire for Dietetic Support Worker at our Sutton  site.

Main duties of the job

The role of the dietetic support worker is to support and assist the dietitian in the nutritional management of patients. They will undertake nutritional assessments, provide basic dietary advice and be involved in discharge planning particularly for patients on enteral feeding.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

1.    To work with the dietitians and under their guidance and support to provide dietetic advice to patients.
2.    To be involved in the initial and follow up nutritional assessments of patients identified by the dietitian, taking diet histories, assessing weight, monitoring nutritional screening tools and food record charts.
3.    Assist the dietitians in planning, organising and monitoring patients going home on nutritional support.
4.    To assist in reviewing patients nutritional intake as an inpatient, on the day units or as an outpatient.
5.    To assist in the planning and co-ordination for patients being discharged on Home Enteral Feeding, including organising training of patients and liaising with relevant health professionals in the community.
6.    To facilitate and run group education sessions in liaison with the dietitian e.g. to support groups or patients attending the day units.
