Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly motivated project manager/research facilitator  to join us in the SETT Centre. The SETT Centre is part of the research and development infrastructure based at the Southampton General Hospital and is focussed on developing research in Advanced Therapies, Medical technology and Data & AI. You will play a key role in supporting the research pipeline from expression of interest through to delivery.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

•    You will have experience with systems and processes which support the delivery of high-end clinical research 
•    You will have project management skills and experience and be able to demonstrate your ability to manage your own time and work with others to bring projects to completion
•    You will need to have a good understanding of research in the NHS and the impact of research on patient care

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Clinical/scientific degree or equivalent demonstrable experience relevant to the role
  • Evidence of current and on-going GCP training

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of using systems and processes which support the delivery of high-quality clinical care in a clinical research environment
  • Significant experience of cost attribution for clinical research in a healthcare setting and the research grants process
  • Significant experience of the set-up or delivery of clinical research in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of delivery training
  • Project management skills and experience leading and supporting a range of projects
  • Knowledge of research governance and quality assurance systems to ensure safe systems for patients
  • An understanding of current R&D issues in the NHS
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the role
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a large teaching hospital or University
  • Experience of the set- Previous experience in using IRAS or NRES databases for R&D applications p or delivery of commercial clinical research
  • Knowledge of EDGE as a RM&G tool
