Resident Trust Specialist (Lower) in Elderly Care Medicine

Probationary Period
All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.

Agile and Flexible Working
All our staff will have a work base. However the Trust operates as an Agile Working Team therefore staff may be working from home on a regular basis as required by the service. However, occasionally travel around Warwickshire and into your base will be required so access to your own transport would be helpful.

Job overview
You will work as part of a small ward team led by a consultant with input from doctors in training and advanced clinical practitioners and also as part of a wider Care of the Elderly medical team.
Main duties of the job
To support the in-patient and out-patient services in Care of the Elderly at Warwick Hospital as directed by senior team
Research, Education, Audit and Continuing Professional Development
a. To take responsibility for continuing professional education in accordance with guidelines set out by the appropriate college/faculty/professional body.
b. To initiate and participate in research and audit programmes in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
c. To work in collaboration with colleagues in developing skills to provide new ways of working across different professions, organisations i.e. community/primary care.
Clinical Governance
a. In conjunction with Consultant colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.

General elements:
- To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.
- To be able to work flexibly, and cross cover for colleagues.
- To observe the Trust’s agreed policies and procedures
- To take responsibility for your own health and safety complying with any safe working arrangements, policies and procedures which are in place.
- To accept a duty to other staff and patients to ensure that any hazards are reported and managed appropriately.
