Job overview
An exciting and rewarding job opportunity has emerged here at Thames View, Imperial Healthcare Private Care at Charing Cross Hospital. We are looking for an Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) who will be responsible for providing high quality, evidence-based holistic care to our Private Patients.
The CNS will manage a caseload of patients, providing professional person centred care and support from point of suspected malignancy, diagnosis, treatment and beyond. Offering clinical information, expert symptom management advice and emotional support to patients, relatives and carers. Additionally the CNS will be the key contact, creating a trusting link between patient and Consultant and other services. Working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to maintain clinical excellence with a focus on patient outcomes as well as patient experience.
Main duties of the job
• Provide specialist cancer & surgical nursing advice Trust wide to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients /clients and relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, working especially closely with the cancer Community of Practice.
• At all times ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery.
• To ensure efficient and well-informed pathway of care for patients in line with private pathways and national cancer and 18 week targets
• Act as a professional role model, providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research within ward / department team.
• To assist with data collection of cancer patients
