Job overview
The Imperial pharmacy department has recently revised its leadership team structure to reflect our ambitious and wide ranging medicines optimisation strategy. We are excited to announce a new 8c Associate Chief Pharmacist position within our leadership group, with responsibility for our education and training teams and a number of our specialist pharmacy teams. The role will be extremely rewarding and requires an individual who is experienced in working at a strategic level with a range of stakeholders. The post holder will actively contribute to an already dynamic team, to lead and develop the workforce delivery plan to support the development, wellbeing, expertise and impact of our staff across the organisation.

Main duties of the job
- To lead, manage, maintain, plan and co-ordinate all areas of responsibility (Pharmacy Clinical Services, Education & Training Teams for all sites) at Imperial in line with Trust Priorities and Pharmacy strategic objectives.
- To ensure delivery of high quality services which are patient focused and consistent across the Trust sites.
- To ensure services are provided in accordance with current regulations, best practice and legal requirements.
- To set standards for services, monitor performance, and ensure that services are provided efficiently and in accordance with the needs of users.
- To develop, train, motivate and encourage staff working within the team and the department as a whole.
- To support the Pharmacy Leadership team in the development, maintenance and implementation of the annual business plans and service strategies for the department.
- To act as the Operational Site Lead as required in the absence of the respective Deputy Chief Pharmacist (s) as required.

Education/ qualifications
Essential criteria
- Master’s Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
- GPhC registered Pharmacist
- Mandatory GPHC Professional CPD
- Post Graduate management / leadership qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- RPS member
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of staff management and management experience within clinical/clinical support services
- Previous experience in developing and delivering training and education
- Demonstrable use of clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to improve practice
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of chairing multidisciplinary meetings
Skills/knowledge/ abilities
Essential criteria
- Good ability to organise and prioritise work
- Analytical ability for problem solving
- A good understanding of national and local priorities
- Experience of change management and quality improvement
